Iran’s state-run news agency has announced that the country’s navy will be sending a warship near US waters in the Atlantic. The headlines say they’ll be placing a so-called “powerful presence near United States borders”. Sending an Iranian ship to the Atlantic would be a response to the presence of American ships in the Persian Gulf, and would create a major escalation of tensions between the two countries.
