Dutch taxman headed to red light district. The Dutch government has set its sights on the world’s oldest profession. It’s been a decade since prostitution was officially legalized in Amsterdam, and red light district workers are now being told to expect a visit from the taxman. Most workers don’t seem too upset about the decision. They feel that since they work legitimate jobs, they SHOULD pay taxes.

Cities Pledge to Reduce Carbon Emissions

Major cities sign on for global carbon campaign. Global warming may actually slow down a bit if four world capitals can make good on an aggressive environmental pledge. Amsterdam, Zagreb, Paris and Mexico City have all signed up for the 10-10 climate campaign. Each city is promising to reduce its carbon emissions by 10 percent in 2011.
