US President Barack Obama has ordered the deployment of 12-hundred troops from the National Guard to boost patrol efforts along the country’s shared border with Mexico. It’s hoped the National Guard will help combat drug trafficking and also stem the flow of illegal immigrants. The troops will begin their watch on August first and will be spread across Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and California.
