South Korean commandos rescue cargo crew from pirates. South Korean navy commandos have rescued all 21 crewmembers from a cargo ship that had been seized by Somali pirates in the Arabian Sea. The South Korean Samho Jewellery cargo ship was transporting chemicals from the UAE to Sri Lanka when it was hijacked. A daring military rescue took place some 800 miles from the Somali coast, resulting in the capture of five pirates.

Wikileaks comes to source’s defense. Whistleblowing site WikiLeaks has contributed 15-thousand dollars to the soldier accused of providing the site with over 250,000 US State Department documents. U.S. Army Specialist Bradley Manning is also suspected of leaking the notorious video of a 2007 helicopter attack that killed civilians and journalists.
