Atlantis Leaves ISS For Last Time

The US space shuttle Atlantis has undocked from the International Space Station for the last time. Atlantis will be retired after returning to the Kennedy Space Center on Thursday morning marking the end of Nasa’s 30-year re-usable space plane program. The US will now depend on Russian rockets to take its astronauts into orbit until the first commercial American launch vehicles are ready for flight.

NASA Gives Old Shuttles Homes

NASA has finally announced which museums it will be sending its retired space shuttles to. Discovery is heading to the Air & Space Museum in Virginia, Atlantis is going to Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, Endeavour to the California Science Center in Los Angeles and Enterprise will go on display at the Intrepid museum in New York City.
