A bidding deadline for the Borders Group came and went on Sunday without offers. The second largest book store retailer in the US has now announced it will proceed with a proposal from a private equity firm to close its 399 remaining stores. The liquidation will begin as soon as Friday putting the jobs of nearly 11-000 employees in jeopardy.
