Comcast closer to NBC takeover. The face of American broadcasting is about to get a new look. The FCC has approved Comcast’s bid to take a controlling interest in NBC Universal. In order to gain permission, Comcast had to agree to share NBC’s output with rival cable companies and internet video services. The final price for the acquisition, 13-point-8 billion dollars.
