Australia preparing for post-flood reconstruction. Australia’s Queensland province is preparing for a reconstruction of “Post-War” proportions after historic flooding. While the flooding in Brisbane – Australia’s third-largest city – was less than expected, it still caused widespread damage. According to Brisbane mayor Campbell Newman, over 13-thousand homes and businesses were completely submerged, with another 17-thousand partially damaged by floodwaters.
