China has unveiled an ambitious plan that would see it spend 7 and a half billion dollars on the construction of a 490 mile railway, that would serve as an alternative to the Panama Canal! The railway would stretch across the country from the Pacific to the Caribbean Sea, and is aimed at encouraging the shipment of goods between Asia and Latin America.
