According to the Federal Government, the poverty rate in the US is the highest it’s been since 1993. The Census Bureau says that 15.1 percent of the population live under the poverty line. 2.6 million people fell into poverty last year, bringing the total number up to 46.2 million people in total. That’s the highest its been since records began in the 1950s.
