The Japanese government is telling the operators of a crippled nuclear power plant to pay up. They want the Tokyo Electric Power Company to compensate families forced to evacuate about $12,000 each for the hardship they’ve endured. Tens of thousands of residents were forced to flee the leaking radiation – and may never be able to safely return home.
