London-based Derwent Capital Markets is Europe’s first social-media based hedge fund. The nearly 40-million dollar fund was launched on the premise that tweets foretell whether markets will go up or down based on the general mood of the population. So far, the theory has proven to be true. Derwent Capital has reported a 1-point-8 percent rise in its first month of trading.
