The FBI has given its agents a LOT more latitude in how they deal with peoples’ privacy. They’re revising their rulebook, known as the Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide. Under new regulations, agents will have much more freedom to search databases and even garbage, or use surveillance to track people of interest.
