Although some people may find this hard to believe, violent crime in the US is on a steady decline. In the first half of 2011, violent crimes – which include murders, assaults, robberies, and sex crimes – declined by 6.4 percent. The FBI says this is a continuation of a trend that has lasted 4 and a half years.
