In the US, up to 16 people have died in the deadliest food-based outbreak in over 10 years. According to the Centers for Disease Control, there have been 72 illnesses, including 13 deaths, traced to an outbreak of listeria transmitted by Colorado cantaloupes. Officials say they’re investigating 3 more deaths that may or may not be connected.
