
China’s months-long crackdown on food safety has seen more than 2000 people detained, 5000 food companies closed, and literally tons of tainted food products seized. China has been tightening its food policy following a number of scandals in recent months. The latest being the sale of pork tainted with toxic chemicals and the making of cooking oil dredged from gutters and repackaged for sale.
