In France, the burqa ban has been a hot button issue for months, but the debate is now ALMOST officially over. The country’s lower parliament voted overwhelmingly to impose a ban on Islamic face veils in all public spaces. Supporters believe that allowing the religious apparel to be worn goes against French ideals of women’s equality. The bill still has to be approved by the Senate before it becomes law.
