The French government is looking to impose an extra tax on sweetened beverages both to generate revenue and fight obesity. Upon hearing the news, the world’s largest producer of sugary drinks – Coca Cola – is taking a stand. Coke has decided to halt ALL investment in the country, which includes a proposed new 24 million dollar production line at its plant in Southern France.
