Gas explosion tears through San Francisco neighbourhood. A residential neighbourhood outside San Francisco was engulfed in flames on Thursday after a natural gas explosion ravaged more than 50 homes. Pacific Gas & Electric owns the ruptured gas line, but the cause of the accident has yet to be determined. Some 200 firefighters on the ground, along with several water-dropping aircraft, were working on containing the blaze.
