US water treatment systems have become the latest target of hacking groups. The most recent attack saw hackers destroy a pump used to pipe water to thousands of homes in Illinois. Suspects allegedly gained access to the water system using stolen login names and passwords and broke the pump by turning it on and off quickly. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are investigating the matter.
