Former Vice President Dick Cheney underwent major heart surgery and is now resting comfortably in a Virginia hospital. Doctors implanted a small pump in Cheney’s ticker to improve its function. Dr. Tim Gardner, who is the former president of the American Heart Association, says that such implants indicate severe heart failure.
