Employees at one of the US’s leading nuclear weapons research facilities are on high alert. Wildfires in northern New Mexico have reached the boundary of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Officials insist that they have detected quote – “no off-site releases of contamination” and said the facilities face “no immediate threat.” Nevertheless the lab was closed on Monday and Tuesday as a precaution.
