Shuttle Atlantis touched down at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center in the early hours of Thursday morning, marking the end of a thirty year chapter in American space exploration. The NASA shuttle program was integral to the construction of the International Space Station, as well as the launch of the Hubble telescope. NASA will now have to rely on the private sector for space transport.
