IBM buys back billions of shares. Computing giant IBM has just authorized a massive 10 billion dollar buyback of their stock. That represents about 6-percent of their outstanding shares. They’re not done either – they plan on asking their board to buy back even MORE next year. This move normally comes when stock prices are low, but Big Blue’s shares are near their record high level.
