Income disparity in the US has never been greater. Over the past thirty years, the incomes of the wealthiest 1 percent has nearly tripled. Their after-tax household income grew by 275 percent! The next highest 19 percent of earners experienced income growth of only 65 percent over the same period, while the 60 percent of the population in the middle saw an increase of just 40 percent.
