The Iranian government has banned actress Golshifteh Farahani from ever returning to the country. Reason being, one single nude photo of her recently appeared in French magazine Madame Le Figaro. The Iranian actress, who’s starred in films alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, says she agreed to the photo shoot to protest restrictive Islamic codes.

Authorities in Russia seized luggage at the Moscow airport that contained radioactive material. The bag in question was en route to Iran, and had 18 cases containing the radioactive isotope sodium-22. Conflicting reports say that the material can come from a nuclear reactor, or that it’s exclusively used for scientific and medical research. The whereabouts of the Iranian passenger is unknown.

Iran says they may shut down the world’s most vital oil shipping route – the Strait of Hormuz – with what they call “military exercises”. According to officials, they’re going to essentially “practice” how to effectively close the Strait should they ever choose to do so. One official said bluntly, “If the world wants to make the region insecure, we will make the world insecure.”
