
After eight and a half long years, US involvement in Iraq is officially over! Defense Secretary Leon Panetta flew into Baghdad for a generally low-key ceremony marking America’s departure. Paying tribute to the sacrifices Americans and Iraqis have made, he said “We do not forget the lessons of war.” Since 2003, an estimated one million Americans have served in Iraq, with nearly 4,500 giving their lives.
