US Withholding 700 Million in Pakistani Aid

The US has suspended 700-million dollars in aid until Pakistan demonstrates they’re cracking down on the spread of homemade bombs in the region. This is the second time this year that aid has been withheld over concerns that Islamabad is soft on terrorism. Ties between the two countries have been strained since the killing of Osama bin Laden, who had been living in northern Pakistan.

Pakistani Spy Agency Collaborating With Militants

The US military’s top officer, Admiral Mike Mullen, is calling out Pakistan’s spy agency ISI for having ties to violent militants. He says the agency has a “long-standing relationship” with a group that’s led by a well know Afghan insurgent. Mullen made the accusation while in Islamabad, speaking to Pakistani officials.
