Judge declares don’t ask don’t tell violation of basic human rights. A US federal judge has declared the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy unconstitutional. District Judge Virginia Philips says the ban against homosexuals serving their country violates the First AND Fifth Amendment rights of gays and lesbians. The judge added that she would issue an order to stop the government from enforcing it nationwide.
