
US officials have declared a state of emergency in Michigan’s Kalamazoo County, where a pipeline owned by Canada’s Enbridge Inc. has burst, flooding the Kalamazoo River with some 800-thousand gallons of oil. It’s already being dubbed the largest oil spill in the history of the Midwest, and could do some serious damage to local water supplies in southern Michigan.
