
Another former judge has been slapped with a prison sentence for his part in a so-called “Kids for Cash” scandal in Pennsylvania. Michael Conahan was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in prison, and also ordered to pay $874,000 in restitution. Prosecutors say that Conahan and Mark Ciavarella took bribes from the co-owner and builder of two private, for-profit juvenile facilities.
