Saddam’s foreign minister sentenced to hang. Saddam Hussein’s long-time foreign minister has been sentenced to hang. Tariq Aziz was convicted for his part in the persecution and murder of Shia Muslims after the first Gulf war. This comes after two previous sentences totaling 22 years for the deaths of merchants and the displacement of Kurds.
