Natural disaster costs triple in 2010. A new report from the United Nations finds that natural disasters cost world governments 109 billion dollars in 2010 – more than TRIPLE the cost from the year before. Chile’s devastating earthquake last February was the most costly incident, calculated at 30 billion dollars, while flooding and landslides in China cost 18 billion.
